Industrial Goods Lift in Sasaram: Capacity, Safety & Applications

Heavy-duty goods lifts for rice mills, flour mills, cold stores, factories and processing plants around Sasaram, built for long shifts and heavy loads.

An industrial lift in Sasaram is chosen for a very different job from a shop's goods lift. It has to move tonnes of grain, flour, packaged goods or machine parts every shift, often loaded by pallet truck or forklift, sometimes in a dusty or damp building, and it cannot afford to stop in the middle of the season. Eldeal Engineers supplies and installs heavy-duty industrial goods lifts for rice mills, flour and feed mills, cold stores, processing plants, packaging units and multi-storey warehouses around Sasaram and across the Rohtas district.

Eldeal’s corporate office sits on Old G.T. Road in Sasaram, which keeps survey, installation and after-sales support close to the mills and units in Rohtas and Kaimur, where downtime in harvest season is costly.

Industries around Sasaram that need an industrial lift

Rohtas and neighbouring Kaimur are widely known as a major rice-growing belt of Bihar, and much of the local industry follows the farm calendar. The loads are heavy, the peaks are seasonal, and the buildings are often two to five storeys with processing on one level and storage or packing on another.

  • Rice mills: moving paddy and rice bags, bran and packed stock between processing, storage and dispatch levels.
  • Flour, dal and feed mills: raw material up, packed bags down, with fine dust in the air.
  • Cold storage buildings: crates and sacks moving between chamber floors in cold, humid conditions.
  • Packaging, printing and small manufacturing units: rolls, cartons, dies and finished goods on pallets.
  • Distribution warehouses on the Grand Trunk Road: multi-storey stock handling with frequent truck arrivals.

Industrial lift or ordinary goods lift?

Buyers often ask for a "goods lift" when they actually need an industrial one, or the other way round. The difference shows in the details:

If your building is a trading godown or showroom, our goods lift in Sasaram page is the better starting point. If you need only two or three low levels and have little headroom, a hydraulic lift may suit. For heavy, continuous plant work, read on.

Industrial lift in Sasaram: capacity, speed and car design

These are typical industry ranges and are indicative only. The final specification follows a study of your loads and building.

ApplicationCapacityTypical speedLoading method
Packaging, printing, light manufacturing1000–2000 kg0.5–1.0 m/sHand or pallet trolley
Rice, flour and feed mills; cold stores2000–3000 kg0.5–1.0 m/sPallet truck
Heavy parts, machinery, forklift traffic3000–5000 kg0.25–0.75 m/sForklift or pallet truck
  • Car size is set by your pallets, bag stacks and the turning space your loading equipment needs, not just by weight.
  • Through car openings (front and rear) let material flow in one side and out the other, which suits production lines.
  • Drive: a V3F traction drive handles many floors and frequent starts with lower starting current and less mechanical shock.
  • Controls: simple push buttons, or attendant control where loads are delicate or valuable.

Built for dust, heat and damp

Mills and plants are hard on electrical and moving parts. During the survey we look closely at the conditions your lift will face:

  • Husk, bran and flour dust: fine dust settles on door tracks, sensors and contacts. We choose enclosures and component positions with this in mind and set a cleaning routine at handover.
  • Summer heat: machine rooms and controller panels need ventilation, especially in May and June.
  • Humidity and condensation: near cold chambers or wash areas, electrical parts need protection and doors need suitable seals.
  • Vibration: heavy machinery nearby can loosen fixings over time, so brackets and connections are checked at every service.
  • Power quality: a dedicated three-phase feeder with sound earthing protects the controller from the voltage swings common in industrial areas.

Safety for operators and loads

Industrial lifts often carry an operator with the load, so they protect both. Standard features include an overload sensor with voice prompt, door interlocks, a light curtain, an Automatic Rescue Device that brings the car to a landing in a power failure, an alarm, intercom and emergency light, and clear rated-load plates at every landing. We inspect the work at each stage of installation and load-test before handover. As per BIS, IS 17900 became mandatory for new installations from 22 December 2025, and the Bihar Lift and Escalator Bill, 2024 provides for registration, inspections, maintenance and third-party insurance. Please confirm the current position for your plant with the local authority.

Cost drivers

An industrial lift is priced on rated load, platform size, loading class (hand, pallet truck or forklift), number of stops, speed, door type, through-car openings and the civil work for the pit and shaft. Forklift-rated platforms cost more because they are built heavier. We quote in writing after a free site survey; our goods lift buying guide lists the questions to settle first.

Installation and uptime

Every project follows the same path: survey and load study, structural coordination with your engineer, supply of design-tested equipment, stage-wise installation around your shifts, load testing with operator training, and then planned maintenance. For a plant, planned upkeep matters most. A comprehensive lift AMC in Sasaram keeps servicing on schedule, and our 24/7 support line is there if the lift stops mid-shift.

FAQ

Questions from Sasaram

Still have a question? Call +91 8448944342 or +91 6207791650

Our rice mill near Sasaram runs long shifts during the paddy season. What should we look for in an industrial lift?

Plan for the busiest weeks, not the average month. Ask for a machine, brake and door set chosen for frequent starts, a platform rated for your loading equipment, and a controller enclosure that keeps out husk and bran dust. Book a full service before the season starts so small faults are fixed while the mill is quiet.

Can a forklift drive into the lift with its load?

Only if the lift is designed for forklift loading from the start. The platform, sill and rated load must allow for the forklift, its load and the impact of driving in. A lift designed for hand-loading or pallet trucks must not be used this way. Tell us your equipment at the survey.

What is the difference between an industrial lift and the goods lift we see in shops?

A shop or godown goods lift handles moderate loads a limited number of times a day. An industrial lift is built for heavier loads, powered or forklift loading and continuous use through a shift, so the platform, machine, brakes and doors are all heavier-duty.

Will a lift work inside a cold storage building?

It can, but the design must allow for low temperatures, humidity and condensation near the chambers. We look at where the shaft sits relative to the cold rooms, how doors are sealed and how electrical parts are protected before we propose a solution.

Our supply voltage fluctuates a lot. Will that damage the lift?

Voltage swings are hard on any controller. We ask for a dedicated feeder of the right rating with good earthing, and we advise on protection for the lift panel. A V3F drive also draws a lower starting current than older systems, which reduces stress on your supply.

Can you install the lift without stopping our production?

In most cases, yes. We barricade the shaft area, plan heavy lifting and noisy work around your shifts, and agree the daily schedule with your plant manager. Some tie-in work may need a short planned stoppage, which we tell you about in advance.
