Our lift installation process, step by step
1. Free site survey
Our engineer visits the site to measure the shaft, pit depth, headroom and machine room (if any). We ask how the building will be used, how many people or what loads the lift must carry, and what your budget is. For buildings still under construction, we share exact shaft and pit dimensions with your architect so the civil work is right the first time.
2. Clear proposal
You receive a written proposal with the lift type, capacity, speed, doors, cabin finish, safety features and timeline. We explain what is included and what the building owner must provide, such as the power supply and civil work. No hidden extras appear later.
3. Civil and electrical readiness check
Before we start, we confirm the shaft is plumb, the pit is dry and the power connection is ready. Catching problems here avoids delays in the middle of the job.
4. Erection and fitting
Our team fits guide rails, brackets, the machine, the car frame and cabin, the counterweight (for traction lifts), landing doors, wiring and the controller. Each stage is inspected before we move to the next.
5. Testing and commissioning
We test the ride, levelling, door operation and every safety device: the Automatic Rescue Device (ARD), light curtain, overload sensor with voice prompt, alarm, intercom and emergency light. Load tests confirm the lift performs at its rated capacity.
6. Handover and training
We walk your building staff through normal use, what to do in a power cut, and whom to call in an emergency. You receive the documents you need for registration and future maintenance.

Standards and local rules
As per BIS, IS 17900, the new Indian lift safety standard harmonised with EN 81-20 and EN 81-50, became mandatory for new installations from 22 December 2025, replacing older codes such as IS 14665 and IS 15259. It emphasises UCMP, ACOP and ARD. In Uttar Pradesh, the Lifts and Escalators Act, 2024 requires registration of lifts. In Bihar, the Lift and Escalator Bill, 2024 passed by the Assembly covers registration, inspection and maintenance. We plan installations with these in mind, but please confirm the current notifications with your local authority.
How long does a lift installation take?
For a typical low-to-mid-rise lift, installation and testing take a few weeks once the shaft is ready and equipment is on site. Tall buildings, custom cabins and civil delays add time. Our proposal gives you a realistic schedule, and we keep you updated as work progresses.
