Car Elevator Installation in Sasaram: A Guide for Homes, Showrooms & Parking

Car lifts for bungalows, apartment basements, car showrooms and service centres in Sasaram, where a ramp would eat up too much of the plot.

A car elevator in Sasaram answers one specific problem: how to get a vehicle from the road to a garage or parking level when there is no room for a ramp. Eldeal Engineers designs and installs car lifts for private homes, apartment buildings with basement parking, car showrooms, service centres and hotels with limited land.

We will be honest from the start. Many buildings in Sasaram park at ground level or under stilts, and for them a car lift is not needed. But on narrow plots, in new projects with basements, and in showrooms that want to use an upper floor, a car lift can free up space that no ramp could. Our corporate office on Old G.T. Road, Sasaram, handles survey, design, installation and after-sales care.

When a car elevator in Sasaram makes sense

  • Bungalows on narrow plots where the garage is in a basement or on a raised level and a ramp would swallow the front yard.
  • Apartment and commercial buildings with basement parking on a tight site, where a ramp would take away saleable space.
  • Car showrooms along the Grand Trunk Road that display vehicles on a first floor or mezzanine.
  • Service centres and workshops that want extra bays on an upper level.
  • Hotels and banquet halls that need more parking on the same footprint.

Ramp or car lift: a quick comparison

For a busy mall car park with hundreds of movements a day, a ramp is usually the right answer. For a home or showroom, a lift often wins.

Drive options and typical specifications

Most car lifts for two or three levels use a hydraulic drive: strong, simple and needing little overhead space. It works on the same principle as our hydraulic lifts in Sasaram. For more levels or taller travel, a V3F traction car lift gives smoother, faster movement. Our hydraulic vs traction guide compares them.

Typical industry ranges, indicative only:

  • Capacity: about 2000–2500 kg for a hatchback or sedan; 3000 kg or more for SUVs and MUVs.
  • Speed: slow and steady, commonly 0.1–0.5 m/s.
  • Stops: usually two to four levels.
  • Platform: an open platform with guard rails for workshops, or an enclosed car with doors for homes and showrooms.
  • Gates: shutter, telescopic or swing gates at each landing.

More detail is on our main car elevator page.

Space, pit and power: what to plan early

A car lift is as much a civil project as a mechanical one. The earlier it is on the architect's drawing, the cheaper it is to build.

  1. Measure the biggest vehicle: length, width and loaded weight, plus the car you may buy in five years.
  2. Approach: the vehicle should drive straight on and off. Tight turns at the landing cause scraped bumpers and slow use.
  3. Pit: depth depends on the drive and capacity. In Sasaram's monsoon, a basement pit must be waterproofed, with a sump where needed.
  4. Headroom: hydraulic designs usually need less than traction designs.
  5. Power: a three-phase connection of the right rating, and a plan for power cuts.
  6. Structure: the pit floor and walls carry heavy loads, so a structural engineer should check them.

Safety features

A car lift moves a heavy load and sometimes a driver. Our designs include an overload sensor with voice prompt, gate interlocks so the platform moves only when every gate is shut, safety sensors at the entry, wheel guides and stop markers to position the vehicle, an alarm, intercom and emergency light, and an emergency lowering or rescue arrangement suited to the drive type. Whether the driver may stay in the vehicle depends on the design; we make this clear before installation.

Living with a car lift day to day

In a private home, the car lift is often used twice a day by the same one or two drivers, so simple controls matter more than speed. We can fit key-switch or access-controlled call buttons so that children cannot play with the lift, and place the controls where the driver can reach them without stepping into the path of the platform. In a showroom, the lift may sit idle for days and then move several vehicles before a launch, so staff need a clear routine: check the platform is level, drive on slowly using the wheel guides, apply the handbrake, and close every gate before sending the lift. In apartments, a written instruction board at each level and a named person responsible for the lift keep use orderly.

Cost factors and rules

The price of a car elevator in Sasaram depends on vehicle size and weight, number of levels, drive type, open platform or enclosed car, gate type and the civil work needed for the pit. Because every car lift is custom-sized, we quote after a free site survey. New lift installations are covered by IS 17900, mandatory from 22 December 2025 as per BIS, and the Bihar Lift and Escalator Bill, 2024 brings registration, inspection and maintenance duties for lift owners. Please check with the local authority how these apply to a car lift in your building.

From survey to handover

Every project follows the same sequence: a free site survey, a design with pit and power details for your architect, supply of design-tested equipment, installation with inspection at each stage, a load test with a vehicle, and a handover briefing for whoever will operate the lift. After that, a car lift works hard and needs regular checks of the drive, rails, gates and sensors. Our lift maintenance team in Sasaram looks after these, with 24/7 support.

FAQ

Questions from Sasaram

Our plot in Sasaram is narrow. Is a car lift really better than a ramp?

On a narrow plot, often yes. A ramp down to a basement or up to a first-floor garage needs a long run to keep the slope safe, and that length is lost for parking or rooms. A car lift needs only a footprint slightly bigger than the car. On a wide plot, a ramp may be simpler and cheaper, and we will say so.

Which vehicles can a car elevator in Sasaram carry?

Whatever it is designed for. We size the platform and capacity to the largest vehicle you expect to own, not just today's car. An SUV or MUV needs a longer platform and higher capacity than a hatchback, so tell us about future plans too.

Will the basement pit fill with water in the monsoon?

It can if drainage is not planned. We specify pit waterproofing and, where needed, a sump with a pump. Your civil contractor should build these before the lift is installed.

Can a car showroom on G.T. Road use a car lift to display vehicles upstairs?

Yes. Car lifts are commonly used to move display vehicles to a first floor or mezzanine. An enclosed car with a good finish suits a showroom, while an open platform may be enough for a service workshop.

Does a car lift need a separate power connection?

It usually needs a suitable three-phase supply. We tell you the load required after design, so you can arrange the connection with the electricity board in good time.

How is a car lift maintained?

Regular visits check the hydraulic or traction drive, guide rails, gates, sensors and stop markers. Because car lifts carry heavy loads, we recommend a maintenance contract from day one.
